Super Troopers 2 - oh no!

Super Troopers is a great, great movie. It gets funnier every time I watch it. Its comedic genius.

The guys responsible for that work of art call themselves Broken Lizard.

Broken Lizard has done several things since Super Troopers, and they are all complete utter crap.

Club Dread - Hardly watchable. Its painfully bad.

The Dukes of Hazzard - Complete crap. I'll admit I laughed a few times on the first viewing, but the laughs were cheap and didn't last to the second viewing. Its awful. If a movie based on a tv show could ruin the tv show, then by god, that show would be ruined. Its crass in a not very funny way, and completely goes against the intent of the show. (Actually, I just remembered a Super Troopers reference that was funny). This isn't actually a Broken Lizard movie, but it has the director and guest appearances by some of the actors.

Beer Fest - The most victorious of their post-super troopers outings, its still a whole lot of nothing. Its just like saying that having 15 squishy boils on your face isn't as bad as having 17 squishy boils on your face.

So now they're going back to old reliable, Super Troopers. I fear that they are going to make a crappy sequel on par with all of their other efforts. We'll have to ignore it like Highlander 2, Caddy Shack 2, Ghostbusters 2, etc, but that won't change the fact that it exists. Suckiness will be associated with thy holy name of Super Troopers, and that is a shame.

Unless I'm wrong. Maybe it will be a worthy sequel. But, there's no evidence to suggest that.
